Part of Shurnukh community passes to Azerbaijan – community head says
A part of Shurnukh community passes to Azerbaijan, head of the village Hakob Arshakyan told Aysor.am.
“The state highway passes through our village dividing it into 2 parts. One district remains down of the highway. Today Turk has come with a Russian, “stamped” their points with GPS and decided from where to where. The village is being deprived of the down part. There are 12 homes there, one home “slips” and remains in our border,” Arshakyan said.
The head of the community stressed that the village has not been emptied. Only few families have left a part of it basing on security purposes.
Arshakyan said they were not told to leave the territory.
Earlier today, Armenia’s PM Nikol Pashinyan said some issues may raise over two villages – Shurnukh and Vorotan where they have border issues. The PM said these issues may result in painful situations.
