Time between first and second vaccination against COVID-19 is four weeks - Armenia's Health Ministry
The time between the first and second vaccination against COVID-19 differs for different vaccines. In case of Sputnik-V it is four weeks and in case of AstraZeneca 28 days, Armenia’s Ministry of Health said in response to Aysor.am’s inquiry.
The ministry said Armenia is negotiating with the Russian side on delivery of Sputnik-V vaccine.
Armenia has registered Russian Sputnik-V vaccine against coronavirus.
The possibility of acquiring AstraZeneca vaccine has also been discussed at the session of Immunization Affairs Republican Consulting Expert Commission.
It has been decided not to reject acquiring of AstraZeneca vaccine intended for 3% of the population taking into consideration the affordability and quick delivery of the vaccine (March, 2021).
Asked when the first batch of vaccine is expected the ministry said the negotiations are currently being held and that the vaccine is firstly envisaged for people in the group of risk.
As to whether it the vaccination will be mandatory or voluntarily, the ministry said in Armenia the vaccination, including against COVID-19, is being implemented with the vaccines acquired by the state and on voluntary basis.
