RPA condemns recent arrests, urges all joint fight against incumbent authorities and participate in today’s rally

Armenia’s Republican party issued a statement on the recent arrests [Ara Saghatelyan, Karen Bekaryan, Mher Avagyan, etc.], stressing that the capitulatory authorities who are the only reason of the shameful defeat in the last war continue the criminal policy of depriving Armenians of their homeland and state and continues the vain efforts of depriving the people of hope and will by false criminal cases, falsified accusations, illegal usage of force resource.

“All this is taking place in conditions of acting marital law that is in force up to now with absurd reasons which, according to international assessments, aims at pressing the anti-governmental rallies and arresting opposition figures,” the statement said.

The party strictly condemns all the cases of political persecution in the country with the power institutions, expressed regret that the NSS has diverted from its key mission and became a pocket stooge of “absurd scribble”.

The party also demanded immediate annulment of the marital law and ensuring full volume of basic principles of human rights and freedoms in the country and reiterated its commitment to consistent political fight.
The RPA also urged all to join the fight of the Movement of Salvation of Homeland and participate in today’s rally.

The party also stated that “the only responsible of the negative developments in the country is the incumbent anti-national and destructive authorities.”
