Ara Saghatelyan persecuted for being chief enemy of Azerbaijan in propaganda field – political analyst
The experts in anti-Azerbaijani propaganda are carrying out protest action outside the NSS building in support of former head of NA staff Ara Saghatelyan who has been taken to custody with the court’s ruling.
“We will show both the people and the NSS servicemen who Ara Saghatelyan really is and what contribution he has in the anti-Azerbaijani propaganda, what efforts he exerted to make the Armenian position understandable and perceivable for all the parties dealing with the conflict,” political analyst Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan told the reporters outside the NSS building today.
He said they brought materials to hand over to NSS for them to understand with who they are dealing with.
The political analyst said he feels sorry that the chief structure dealing with Armenia’s security in fact serves “the traitor’s power.”
He said the NSS wiretapped and followed Saghatelyan during the days of war, on the days when he [Saghatelyan] was working with international mass media in Stepanakert.
“From the very first days of the war the Ukrainian press was full of anti-Armenian propaganda. In essence, just in one night Saghatelyan managed to change the situation and give a material correcting the first situation,” the expert said.
Melik-Shahnazaryan noted that obviously the propaganda against Azerbaijan is already being criminally punished in Armenia.
The expert stressed that Ara Saghatelyan is a political prisoner.
“He is the first political prisoner in Armenia after the war. Today Ara Saghatelyan is being persecuted for being the defender of Artsakh’s interests during his whole life and for being one of the chief enemies of Azerbaijan in the propaganda field,” he said.
