Armenia’s Civil Aviation Committee investigates information on hijacking of Boeing 737 with Armenian registration number
Armenia’s Civil Aviation Committee is investigating the information about hijacking of a Boeing 737 with Armenian registration number.
“The committee has not officially received confirmed information on the fact of hijacking. It is informed about the location of the plane and is closely cooperating with the aviation leadership of the countries involved,” the press service of the Civil Aviation Committee reported.
Earlier today former adviser to the Prime Minister Hakob Tchagharyan wrote on Facebook that the Armenian Civil Aviation Committee received a telegram on February 21 from the General Directorate of the Civil Aviation of the United Arab Emirates on the hijacking of Boeing 737 with Armenian registration number EK-FAA.
“The plane flew from Tallinn and was to land in Yerevan. But instead, a decision was made in the air to head to the Emirates for maintenance. However, “for technical malfunction” it landed in Tehran. Hijacking of an Armenian plane? Another deception or professional incompetence of Armenia’s civil aviation? Regretfully, Armenia affirms is place in the “blacklist” of world aviation,” Tchagharyan wrote.
