Armenia’s PM should publicly apologize for his statement – Russian Duma deputy
Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated about “unexploded” missiles of operative-tactical Iskander complexes during the war in Nagorno Karabakh.
Referring to it, first deputy chairman of the Russian Duma Defense Committee Alexander Sherin speaking to Daily Storm expressed opinion that by criticizing Russian weapon Pashinyan wants to emphasize his innocence in the outcome of the conflict.
Sherin stressed that Armenia’s PM should publicly apologize.
“Undoubtedly, Pashinyan needs to find guilty in what happened. But after such statements it is necessary to immediately set up bilateral commission for Armenia is member of the CSTO. It actually can be a major blow to the reputation of our weapon and the image of the whole country. And it is necessary to be held accountable for such words if they are wrong,” Sherin said.
The Duma member said it is necessary to first of all learn “whether Pashinyan read at all the tactical-technical characteristics of Iskander and whether he knows for what this missile is being used for.”
“To be frank, I don’t quite understand what the complaint is about. I guess Pashinyan has never dealt with military affairs,” the deputy said.
“It is necessary to treat his words seriously. If a person says such things, it is necessary to conduct check. Let him back his words with some facts,” Sherin added.
“How can it be calculated that 10 Iskanders were used and only one exploded? And where did the other 9 fall and did not explode? I think Pashinyan should publicly apologize. But he blurted out it to the whole world. Pashinyan’s phrase shows how deep he actually dived into the military affairs,” the Russian deputy said.
