Statement of Armenia’s PM on Iskander is of exclusively political nature – Russian military expert
Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan talked about Iskander for political reasons trying to redeem him in the eyes of western partners for failure, Russian military expert Konstantin Sivkov said in an interview to Vzglyad paper.
“No data on usage of Iskander complexes during the conflict in Nagorno Karabakh has been received. While all know the missiles which were falling on the territory of Azerbaijan. Baku demonstrated them,” Sivkov said.
The expert explained that Iskanders are quite big complexes in their size.
“It means their falling could not have been left unnoticed for the adversary. As far as Azerbaijan did not show any of the fallen missiles of this type on its territory, we may conclude that no such falling was recorded,” he noted.
“Besides, Armenian experts are hardly working on the Azerbaijani territory analyzing the condition of the missiles falling their and reporting the information to Pashinyan,” Sivkov said.
He also reminded that Iskanders were effectively used in Syria.
“They all exploded there. Therefore, the leader of Armenia has no proofs of bad quality of the missiles,” he stressed.
“Besides, three and half months have passed since the end of the war in Nagorno Karabakh and during all this time no one was talking about bad quality of Russian types of weapons. Why would Pashinyan started talking about it. I see only political reason here. He is trying to redeem him in the eyes of western partners for failure,” the expert said.
Member of Expert Council of Collegium of Russian Military-Industrial Commission Viktor Murakhovski has the same opinion.
“Armenia did not use Iskander missiles during the conflict in Nagorno Karabakh. This is why the statement of the prime minister of the republic is of exclusively political nature,” he said.
