Armenia's president says to make objective decision regarding Onik Gasparyan's resignation decree - Artur Vanetsyan on results of the meeting
Members of the Movement of Salvation of Homeland met with Armenia’s President Armen Sarkissian.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, former NSS director Artur Vanetsyan said they presented to Sarkissian their viewpoints and asked him, as guarantor of the Constitution, in the sidelines of his authorities, settle the extraordinary situation created in the country.
He stressed that the two sides registered that only state interest is above everything and that all must be guided with advancing state interest only.
As to the situation with the resignation document of Chief of General Staff of Armenian Armed Forces, Vanetsyan said, “The president listened to us and said that he will make an objective decision in the sidelines of his authorities. The president did not convey to us any concrete decision.”
The leader of Homeland party also said that during the meeting it was noted that the statement of the General Staff was not a military coup attempt.
Vanetsyan also said that the president continues the row of the meetings.
He said the president is due to meet with Onik Gasparyan today.
