Any speculations on return of motion on release of Onik Gasparyan with objections by President impermissible and unacceptable - statement
The fact of return of the motion on releasing Chief of the General Staff of Armenian Armed Forces Onik Gasparyan by the president with objections is being impermissibly speculated and received inadequate response, the president’s office said in a statement issued today.
“In this regard we again emphasize that the President of the Republic is implementing his functions only by the authorities defined by the Constitution, in an unbiased way, making the decisions guided exclusively by national and state interests,” the statement stressed, adding that the president is not representing interests of any political forces, is “neither black not white and any speculation in this regard is impermissible and unacceptable.”
The statement also stressed that the important mission of the president is to follow the preservation of the Constitution, to serve the presidential institute as platform for dialogue and finding ways for solution of the situation created in the country.
“The President of the Republic has numerous times offered and reiterates his readiness to consolidate the political forces over the table of negotiations to settle the disputes and find mutually acceptable solutions,” the statement said.
It also added that the president returned the motion to relieve Onik Gasparyan with his objections in the sidelines of his authorities defined in the Part 2 of Article 139 of the Constitution.
