Yerevan court examines complaint against Ara Saghatelyan’s arrest
Yerevan court is examining the petition of lawyers of former head of the NA staff Ara Saghatelyan against his arrest.
Lawyer Mihran Poghosyan said that the case is so unfounded and the arrest of Ara Saghetalyan so illegal that it is clear for every person having at least small relation to advocacy.
“My expectation from the Criminal Court of Appeal is legal, fair and objective ruling,” Poghosyan said.
The lawyer also said that Ara Saghatelyan wants to participate in the court hearing and stressed that his presence should be ensured.
“Over 400 people used the mentioned IP address. Why Mr Saghatelyan was picked as the person who committed wrongdoing. The investigation body must explain it. If we do not get explanation, it becomes clear that it is a criminal persecution directed against Ara Saghatelyan,” Poghosyan stressed.
