Azerbaijani president intentionally undermines implementation of trilateral statements

Armenia’s MFA spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan says with his statements about “new transport corridor to pass through Azerbaijan’s historic territory – Zangezur and join Azerbaijan’s main part with its inseparable part Nakhichevan and Turkey” are attempts to undermine the implementation of joint trilateral statements.

“I repeat, point 9 of November 9 trilateral statement does not fix creating any corridor. By calling Zangezur “Azerbaijani historic territory” and citing the made-up “corridor” Azerbaijan’s president with such like provocative statements is intentionally undermining the implementation of November 9 and January 11 trilateral statements,” the spokesperson said.

She noted that such rhetoric contradicts the commitments assumed by Azerbaijan and is an open challenge to the international right and does not contribute to the establishment of peace in the region which is a threat to all its countries.
