CC received President's application to decide constitutionality of law on marital service and status of military

The application of Armenia’s president Armen Sarkissian on deciding the constitutionality of law on military service and status of military has been submitted to the Constitutional Court.

“In three day time the correspondence of the application to the demands defined by the Article 24 and 25 of the constitutional law on Constitutional Court will be decided,” CC spokesperson Eva Tovmasyan told Aysor.am.

She said after it the phase of preliminary examination of the application will kick off.

“It envisages 30-day period since the day of receiving the application. In the mentioned period the future fate of the application will be decided,” the spokesperson said.

It has been reported earlier that Armenia's President applied to CC over the resignation issue of Chief of the General Staff of Armenian Armed Forces Onik Gasparyan.

Today in the morning the government issued a statement noting that Onik Gasparyan has been dismissed from post with the force of law.
