Armenia’s PM should step down immediately and voluntary – Armenia’s first president
In case the ruling force organizes snap parliamentary elections it will use the administrative resources turning the polling stations into hearths of tension. In such case we will witness the most shameful elections, Armenia’s first president Levon Ter-Petrosyan wrote in his article on iLur.am.
“The only way out stemming from the interests of the state and the people and the premier personally is his immediate and voluntary resignation and at least temporary asylum abroad with ensuring legal guarantees of his immunity by the parliament. In this case the duties of the prime minister must pass to a non-party vice-premier who stemming from his neutrality will manage to ensure conduction of fair elections,” Ter-Petrosyan noted.
He stressed that the Homeland Salvation Movement is already anachronism as their actions for the past four months showed that the movement has exhausted itself.
Ter-Petrosyan agreed with the opinion of opposition candidate Vazgen Manukyan that the elections cannot be conducted during the tenure of the incumbent authorities.
“The prime minister and his political force, not only avoid responsibility for the shameful defeat in the war, are being guided not with the state interests but exclusively with the open mania of keeping the power at any cost,” Ter-Petrosyan stated.
