Interpol refuses to cooperate with Armenian authorities due to political persecutions in the country – deputy publishes document
Two and half years passed after the revolution but it is still unknown who killed the ten citizens on March 1, 2008, deputy Taguhi Tovmasyan told the reporters in the NA today.
She publicized a document from Interpol addressed to the Armenian Bureau. According to it, the Interpol has refused to declare search for ex-prosecutor general of Armenia Gevorg Kostanyan.
According to the document, Interpol considers that the Armenian Prosecutor General’s Office and Special Investigation Services have made up an unfounded political case, and it will not restrict the movement of any person under that case and declare search.
The document also described March 1 case a political one and urged not to mix Interpol to it.
“Now it appears that in essence two important agencies lied to us because first there is an obvious political color that Interpol has noticed and stopped cooperation with our country,” Tovmasyan said.
She said for the first time in 30 years an international authoritative organization records that political persecutions take place in Armenia and refuses to cooperate with the Armenian authorities.
“Is this what we did revolution for?” Tovmasyan stressed, adding that there are other documents too which she will publicize upon necessity.
