People dealing with March 1 case will not avoid responsibility - ex-prosecutor general
Ex-prosecutor general Gevorg Kostanyan learnt about Interpol document today.
“If I had this document at my disposal or if I knew about it earlier I would have done everything earlier, so what Taguhi Tovmasyan published today was a surprise to me, a nice surprise,” Tovmasyan said speaking to Aysor.am.
He said by now Russian prosecutor’s office and law enforcement bodies refused the request of the Armenian bodies to declare search for him, noting that it is a political persecution.
“I have voiced my position regarding March 1 case saying that there is no proof at all. After charges I said let them present just one proof and I would admit my guilt with all the stemming consequences. Naturally, they did not do it. Moreover, I offered them to organize public discussions and I would come to Armenia and publicly present my position,” he said, adding that Interpol confirmed everything he said about proofs.
“The published document is irrefutable proof which means that a number of people, both prosecutors and investigators together with their supervisors have one irrefutable proof which is the basis of their accusation. Indeed, they will not avoid responsibility and none of them can say “we were guided by the law” because now not a political body but international legal body said “guys you not only failed to be guided by law but you acted unlawfully,”” he said, adding that the crime of the Armenian prosecution, SIS and their political masterminds has been confirmed by the document given by Interpol.
