Pashinyan demonstrates criminal self-confidence by announcing day of snap elections – expert
In case of dissolving parliament the snap parliamentary elections are being appointed with the de jure decree of the president.
This was stated by expert in constitution Gohar Meloyan in conversation with Aysor.am asked for a comment about the PM’s statement on conduction of snap elections on June 20.
She stressed that the president cannot refrain from appointing the date of elections.
Meloyan said that the PM demonstrates criminal self-confidence and makes statements about a process that supposes a number of legal regulations.
“This process involves the NA factions, Central Election Commission,” she said, adding that the day of elections is being appointed by the president.
Presenting the process, she said that Nikol Pashinyan steps down and after 7 days no candidate is being nominated and no one is elected as PM. After 14 days the day of snap elections is being appointed.
“In this case I cannot already say where this criminal self-confidence comes from. It does not fit in the bounds of legality how they calculated that the day of elections is June 20,” the expert said.
