Homeland Salvation Movement doubts that snap elections will take place on June 20
Facebook post on conduction of elections on June 20 does not inspire trust, coordinator of Homeland Salvation Movement Ishkhan Saghatelyan told the reporters today, adding that they have all grounds to doubt that on June 20 elections will be held.
He stressed that the organization of elections was one of the demands of the Movement and even if they do take place, it will satisfy only part of its demands.
“We believe that elections are necessary and important condition to take the country out of the existing situation but the snap elections organized by Nikol Pashinyan in case of his being acting PM possesses big danger that they will not pass in equal competition conditions,” he said, stressing that instead of taking the country out of the crisis a new one may start.
Saghatelyan said the acting PM must be a person not having any personal interest in these elections. He did not exclude that this person may be Vazgen Manukyan.
Saghatelyan stressed that they will continue protest actions and may make some changes in their tactics.
“To speak about election that does not exist…we consider it senseless to enter that agenda,” he added.
