Former head of NA staff doubts that elections will take place
Snap elections are not being declared with a Facebook status, there is a relevant legal procedure, and Nikol Pashinyan does not have authority to declare elections as it is the function of the president, former head of NA staff Ara Saghatelyan said in an interview to Pastinfo asked whether he will take part in them or not.
“We will speak about it after the elections are officially appointed. I strictly doubt that the elections will take place. Which promise did the liar on the seat of Armenia’s prime minister kept, for him to do it this time? Therefore, I consider it senseless to move ahead of time,” Saghatelyan said.
As to the launch of the campaign by Nikol Pashinyan who travelled to Aragatsotn province on Saturday, Saghatelyan said this time last year he appointed day of referendum and was again in provinces.
“Did that referendum take place? Of course it didn't. Therefore, I repeat, I am not sure that the elections will take place,” the ex-head of the NA staff said.
Saghatelyan also added that he would not call the visit to Aragatsotn province a campaign, saying that he gathered children and was talking stupid things.
“It was not a campaign, but a regular monkeying of a riffraff ready for everything to save own skin. I was very much angered that he took children to the gathering,” Saghatelyan said, stressing that Pashinyan made a live shield from the children so that if anyone truly wanted to throw eggs on that traitor would constrain from the presence of the children.
“Knowing well his villain essence, I would not be surprised if he stages some provocation and manipulating the presence of the children tries to make a PR occasion of it even at the cost of security of the children there,” Saghatelyan said, adding that Pashinyan is ready for everything to save own skin and will not stop at anything to sit in the PM’s seat a minute more.
Saghatelyan also stressed that there are tens of international conventions, inner-state regulations banning children’s involvement in political events.
“And he knows that he has no right to use young children in his dirty games,” Saghatelyan said.
