CC ruling of special significance to me, it proved me right – Artur Vanetsyan (Hraparak)

Leader of Homeland party Artur Vanetsyan referring in an interview to Hraparak.am to the decision of the Constitutional Court, stated that resignations should follow it.

“I consider this decision a logical result and a very important harbor for the state first of all regarding the right. The political processes in this case are secondary. It is very important that institutions recording rule of law function in the country irrespective of the will of the incumbent political power. The notorious 300.1 Article was unconstitutional for me long ago,” Vanetsyan said, asked about the CC ruling.

Asked whether this matter was the basis of his resignation and the well-known “Stop” Vanetsyan said, “Let’s consider it one of the important points of “Stop.” Yes, I have never hidden my viewpoint both over this case and the impermissible pressures on CC lasting for months,” he said, adding that yesterday’s decision of the CC is of special significance for him.

“For my team mates, people trusting me, it is yet another proof that I was right on time. It is important also for the ones who are on power, that the basis of my warnings was exclusively state interest. It appears that with the unconstitutional and invalid article we acquired domestic hostility, serious issues with Russia, inadmissible tension in the CSTO, decline of moral-psychological spirit in the army, etc.,” Vanetsyan said.

As to the other issues of “Stop,” Vanetsyan mentioned that technically it was directed to one person but was an alert to the whole society.

He said many points of it has the same sharpness and promised to speak about them soon.

As to what should follow the decision of the CC, the ex-director of the NSS said, “Resignations, … from political and law enforcement system, apologies at least from those persecuted with the well-known case.”
