I will fight for future till the end – Mikayel Minasyan

There is only one way to come to terms with the past – to accept it, ex-ambassador of Armenia to Vatican Mikayel Minasyan said in an interview to Armnews TV Channel.

“If I could decide I would have decided in the following format – except the persons who caused death to people during the war all should receive the second chance. The only thing that will not be forgiven is the direct betrayal. I confidently repeat the defeat in the 3d Artsakh war is result of treachery because of it the boys were killed, killed as it has many times been noted for nothing, according to them, while we believe that for their land, and this land now has their blood. These blood obliges forgive everything not connected with this blood,” he said.

Asked who must assume the responsibility, Minasyan said it is a cross covered with sacred blood, it is such a burden and responsibility that a person who simply does not want to devote his life to his country and the people means he immediately lies.

“I am not the person who knows for sure that he will manage. It is an impossibly hard work, but I am the person who will not lie, I never lie,” Minasyan said, adding that on the next day of elections after the ballot boxes are open and we see that Pashinyan gathered for instance 95% of votes, it will mean that the people elected the past.

“Do we have place in this past? Personally I do not imagine me in the past, I imagine me everywhere – in jail, in grave, where we are all now, but I do not imagine me in migration, shamed as citizen of Armenia and I do not imagine me in past. Therefore, I will fight for the future. The only reason for which I would like and want to participate in the elections is to give people alternative, to give people opportunity not to elect just between the past and the past, but convince them that there is another option, it is future. Will I find so much strength in me, to say frankly, it is is very hard, because I understand that from that moment I have no way back but if suddenly I find the strength in me, I will go till the end, even if the 97% of the people elect the past, we will build new country on the basis of 3%, but Nikol Pashinyan has no alternative, Nikol Pashinyan will be punished,” he said.
