Ara Saghatelyan - Our team has always been harmonious with Kocharyan's team in fight with this evil

Hraparak paper in an interview with former head of NA staff Ara Saghatelyan who is team member of ex-ambassador Mikayel Minasyan and will more probably head the list formed by him asked whether Minasyan and his team will support Robert Kocharyan.

The question came following the talks that Minasyan was working against Kocharyan and they had domestic political issues and to say it mildly were not associates.

“Our team has never worked against Robert Kocharyan’s team, on the contrary, our team has always been harmonious with Robert Kocharyan’s team in fighting against this evil. I want to also say that Mikayel Minasyan has clearly noted that despite the past way either they were friends or opponents, were offended or we were offended, we are with everyone who is against Nikol. We draw a line and say we are with everyone who is against this catastrophe-bringer, this monkey with grenade,” Saghatelyan said.

Saghatelyan said they will support all who fight against Nikol and did not discuss the possible pre-electoral processes yet.

As to whether he considers it possible to form bloc with Kocharyan formally, Sagahtelyan said at this moment they cannot unveil any information about their participation in political processes, party actions.

He stressed no discussion was held yet.

“At this moment the participation we imagine is supporting all the opposition forces as much as we can,” he said.

As to why he did not participate with his friends – leader of Homeland party Artur Vanetsyan, former governor of Syunik Vahe Hakobyan who too established a party and whether considers cooperation with them possible, Saghatelyan said, “First of all we must say that I am member of a very concrete team. We are childhood friends with Mikayel Minasyan, besides, you can see my active work from 2008,” Saghatelyan said, adding that he is always standing by Vanetsyan and Hakobyan as much as they, as figures, are acting against the band which usurped the power.

“But whether we will cooperate with anyone or not, will go with bloc or just help, will be clear after it is stated whether the elections will be held or not,” he said.

Asked whether Mikayel Minasyan has enough rating in Armenia and whether his name will help Sagahtelyan or will harm in the election fight if to consider criticism voiced in his address, Saghatelyan said, “You know what result this criticism is – the lies and falsifications spread by Nikol Pashinyan for years. Mikayel Minasyan was one of the best ambassadors of Armenia who during his tenure carried out very important work for Armenia, our people and the history,” he said, adding that he is proud that Mikayel Minasyan is his friend.

“I think the involvement of Mikayel Minasyan in active politics is only useful as we see that he does not spare any effort to reveal the falsifications, reveal Nikol’s lies and explain the public the consequences in an available way,” Saghatelyan said.
