No meeting with Azerbaijani side for signing peace agreement expected – Armenia’s MFA spokesperson
Meeting with Azerbaijani side for signing peace agreement is not planned, Armenia’s MFA spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan said in an interview with Armenpress, asked to respond to Aliyev’s statement about offering peace agreement to Armenia which was left without response.
“Moreover, the anti-Armenian position of the Azerbaijani leadership and the behavior, mildly speaking, do not give grounds to expect constructiveness from the Azerbaijani authorities for finding solutions to the situation created as a result of aggression against Artsakh,” she said, adding that the statements of the Azerbaijani president and the organization of the exhibition in the “park” dedicated to Artsakh war opened in Baku on April 12 are bright proofs of it.
“All this, as well as the speculation of the issue of prisoners of war by Azerbaijan comes to prove how far Azerbaijani leadership stands from its own declarative statements about the post-war situation, peace in the region and reconciliation,” Naghdalyan said.
She stressed that Azerbaijani president continues making contradictory statements, telling its own audience the thesis that the conflict is settled on one hand, and on the other at the event organized for international audience speaks about signing peace agreement and need of solution of some issues of NK conflict.
“Let’s simply make one clear observation in this regard – for signing peace agreement peace process is necessary which stopped after usage of force by Azerbaijan,” Naghdalyan said.
