Complex measures necessary to prevent provocations in Artsakh, head of Henaket think-tank Tigran Abrahamyan wrote on Facebook today.

“The priority is Stepanakert-Shushi-Berdzor road sector, and more exactly, the presence of Azerbaijanis in two enties to the town of Shushi. The uniform of the Azerbaijanis deployed there clearly shows that Azerbaijani internal troops are implementing service in that sector of the frontline,” Abrahamyan wrote, adding that the circumstance that the Azerbaijanis are standing 3-4 meters from Russian peacekeeping block posts raises the risk of provocations.

The expert said the provocation is not only using a weapon, but also the behavior.

“There is a big issue of withdrawing troops in this and other directions of the frontline, conditionally speaking, demilitarization of the border. If this issue is not being solved, the criticizing, warning statements in case of different incidents will not solve any issue, and the recorded cases will become more frequent,” he wrote.

“The armed forces of countries considering each other enemies continue standing in front of one another on the frontline with the interstitial space in many directions being just few tens of meters,” Abrahamyan wrote.
