Armenia’s acting PM slams low number of vaccinated in the country, tells executive power members get vaccinated within a week
The vaccination potential in Armenia is not being used at its full, Armenia’s acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the cabinet sitting today.
He said due to war the vaccination has not been paid necessary attention to.
Acting minister of health Anahit Avanesyan said today 656 new cases have been recorded, over 2,000 infected are in hospitals.
“Yesterday 16 deaths were recorded,” she said, adding that death cases passed 4,000.
Avanesyan said the vaccines are available in Armenia. She also added that yesterday she and acting vice PM Tigran Avinyan got vaccinated and feel good.
“The vaccination is the only way to help stop the disastrous pace of death,” the acting minister said.
Armenia’s acting PM said it is necessary to start with them, noting that all the members of the executive power should be vaccinated within a week.
“If any vaccine presents danger to the health, life of the citizens the Armenian government will simply not accept it,” he said.
Referring to the propaganda against vaccines in Armenia the PM agreed it with the anti-vaccination movements created in Armenia during the recent years.
“Their purpose is not clear, but we all should get vaccinated. As of the moment only 2,690 people have been vaccinated in Armenia which is a shameful low index. Now the number of vaccinated in the countries is the sign of quality in the world in all regards. So this must be our everyday work,” Pashinyan said, adding that very soon vaccination will be mandatory for travelling.
