Kocharyan bloc to be most influential in parliament if electoral campaign is organized right – expert
Expert in election technologies Armen Badalyan believes the snap parliamentary elections will more probably take place on June 20.
Speaking to Aysor.am Badalyan said that there is both domestic and external political demand for them.
“The prime minister resigned, the whole legal package promoting the conduction of elections has been adopted. Besides, there is also an external political advice to the authorities to conduct snap elections because after 2020 war it is necessary to learn whether these authorities are authorized by the society to implement any actions or not. The foreign political players need to know what political power is being formed in Armenia and with who they can negotiate,” the political technologist said.
He said the Homeland Salvation Movement managed to make the ruling force head to snap elections.
As to already outlining electoral blocs, Badalyan said as of the moment he can say that “Kocharyan” alliance will be represented in the parliament.
“Everything will depend on the efficiency of the campaign of the second president Robert Kocharyan. If he conducts it effectively he will be the most influential force in the parliament. Homeland-RPA bloc will be well represented too, because before joining we believed that Homeland party will pass the threshold while after joining the RPA they will have 5% which too will mean noticeable influence in the NA. Of course, part of republicans will work to the benefit of “Kocharyan” bloc which, according to circulated information, will be formed by ARF-D and Reviving Armenia parties,” he said.
The expert said Prosperous Armenia Party will too have seats in the future parliament.
“It is hard to say. But I think not a few,” Badalyan stressed, adding that the force headed by the current PM will also be represented in the parliament.
“The prime minister personally has his electorate. He will not have the majority if the rest conduct effective election campaign,” he said.
The expert said as of the moment it is clear that at least 4 forces will be represented in the future parliament – Kocharyan bloc, Homeland bloc, PAP and Civil Contract or the force represented by the PM.
Referring to the Bright Armenia party, Badalyan said during these years the party showed that it is not going to present the interests of its voters.
“This is why it will either appear in the parliament or it will not. If it does, it will be on a zero level,” he said.
Badalyan also stressed that neither of the forces will get 50+1% votes.
