Armenia to have no future if Pashinyan and his team stay in power – Ara Saghatelyan
Former head of NA staff Ara Saghatelyan says he is not sure that snap parliamentary elections will take place on June 20.
He stressed that any reclassifications in the opposition field is for the benefit of the opposition field.
“I am convinced that all the participants of this field coordinate their activity and will find best solution. Yes, there could have been one pole and all be in one team, but I think that in this way too all are in one team. We have simple thing – Nikol and nikolism and against it national interest and Armenia’s future,” Saghatelyan said in an interview to Aysor.am.
He stressed that if Nikol Pashinyan and his team remain in power there will be no future in Armenia.
“Azerbaijan continues voicing threats, does not return our prisoners of war, it means Nikol Pashinyan does not represent anything from him. If Nikol Pashinyan and his team, God forbid, with some circumstances, which I don’t believe, keep the power, we may consider that Armenia and the Armenians will continue the existing pace and this pace leads to the bottom,” Saghatelyan said.
The ex-head of NA staff said the authorities have betrayed the Armenian captives in Azerbaijan.
“If they had opportunity to bring the captives but keep it to make a pre-electoral show it will be the last meanness,” he said, adding that the society should give its assessment to it.
Saghatelyan also stressed that Armenia must permanently work with Russia as Russia is Armenia’s strategic partner.
“We do not work with the Russian side, why? Because people sitting in the government, National Assembly, Security Council are not acceptable for the Russian side as persons, as specialists. The salvation of the country is in sweeping away this team, if they stay, there will be no future,” Saghatelyan said.
He also said he will not participate in the elections, “though nothing should be excluded in the politics.”
“The team, the inseparable part I make – Mikayel Minasyan’s team – has expressed its position,” Saghatelyan said.
