Armenia’s acting FM stresses to his Russian counterpart the importance of return of all Armenian captives kept in Azerbaijan

Discussions over the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement will take place during the meeting with the Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov, Armenia’s acting FM Ara Aivazian stated.

Armenia’s acting FM highlighted the importance of the creation of conditions necessary for resuming the peace process under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group.

“The most important issue is ensuring the Azerbaijan’s release of all the prisoners of war and civilians in the status of hostages. And this issue must be settled expeditiously as testified with numerous facts on mass violations of international humane rights,” Aivazian stated at the meeting with Lavrov.

Armenia’s acting FM also focused the attention on the importance of preservation of the historic and cultural heritage in the territories that passed under Azerbaijan’s control.
