Armenia’s acting FM stresses importance of political settlement of NK issue
Nagorno Karabakh conflict is far from being settled, Armenia’s acting FM Ara Aivazian said at joint news conference with Russian FM Sergey Lavrov in Yerevan today.
He said comprehensive political settlement is possible exclusively through peaceful negotiations and consideration of the rights of all.
“The basis of such regulation must first of all be the decision on status of Artsakh within the borders where Artsakh people have used their right to self-determination. The principles of settlement have been worked out by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship, and we are interested in the more reinforcement and intensification of the activity by the international community in the format having the brokering mandate,” Aivazian said.
He stressed that the Armenia side shares the united position of the Minsk Group co-chair countries expressed at April 13 statement.
