Moscow ready to create conditions for UNESCO to work on preservation of cultural heritage in Nagorno Karabakh – Lavrov
Moscow is ready to create conditions for UNESCO to work on preservation of cultural heritage in Nagorno Karabakh, Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov said at the meeting with Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev on Monday.
“UNESCO as organization responsible for the preservation of international cultural heritage is interested in participating in these efforts. We are ready to assist in creation of the conditions that will make it possible. Naturally we must take into consideration the arrangements over it and the position of the interested parties,” Lavrov said.
Russian FM said Moscow wants to constructively help in the issues on humanitarian consequences of the war, including the issue of POWs and historic heritage.
Lavrov also said Russia will continue contributing to the implementation of the trilateral statement of Armenian, Russian and Azerbaijani presidents.
