Robert Kocharyan, Armen Gevorgyan trial postponed, scheduled for May 25
The trial of Armenia’s ex-president Robert Kocharyan and ex-deputy prime minister Armen Gevorgyan has been postponed due to latter's absence.
Gevorgyan’s attorney Erik Alexanyan mediated to postpone the hearing, reasoning the absence of his client with health problems.
The attorney requested to appoint next session not earlier than May 25.
Kocharyan’s attorney Aram Vardevanyan proposed to appoint next court hearing after June 20 snap parliamentary elections in Armenia.
He said Robert Kocharyan will head the list of the political bloc in the elections which supposes active participation in the campaign.
The judge stated that Vardevanyan has not presented any substantiated reasons on how Kocharyan’s participation in the elections will exclude the regular pace of the court session and appointed next hearing on May 25, 1 pm.
