Azerbaijan’s actions in Black Lake area encroachment on the sovereign territory of Armenia – Acting PM

Armenia’s Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan convened yesterday late in the evening Security Council meeting to discuss the situation at the Black Lake area in Armenia's Syunik province.

“Early in the morning today Azerbaijani armed forces crossed Armenia’s state border in that area and deepened up to 3,5km, in essence they are trying to surround Black Lake,” he said.

"Of course, these actions are intolerable for the Republic of Armenia because it is an encroachment on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia and of course, a subject of separate discussion on why and how such action was possible, but it is necessary to record that with its nature it was a subversive act,” the PM said, adding that Armenian armed forces have responded to the events since early morning, the necessary tactical moves and other actions have been carried out.
