Armenia's Acting PM instructs launching actions in sidelines of CSTO to eliminate the danger to Armenia's Syunik
What Azerbaijanis have done is a provocation which may have a more enhanced military-political goals, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the Security Council session today.
“What I mean is that the Azeris trespassed the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in the mentioned sector probably not to solve a territorial issue but to provoke military clashes,” he noted, adding that the Azerbaijani soldiers try to explain their presence there with definitely falsified maps trying to ground with their help that it is Azerbaijani territory.
Pashinyan stressed that the Azerbaijani allegations are ungrounded and they know it themselves.
The acting PM stressed that the created situation fully corresponds to the Paragraph 2 of Article 2 of the CSTO agreement which envisages consultations, coordination of positions of the CSTO member states and actions to eliminate the danger to a member state, its territorial integrity.
Pashinyan instructed the acting foreign minister, acting defense minister and Security Council Secretary undertake actions to launch the consultations envisaged by the Paragraph 2 of Article 2 of the CSTO agreement – in particular for coordinating the positions of the CSTO member states and undertaking actions to eliminate the created threat.
