Big forces gathered from both sides of Armenian-Azerbaijani border, in case situation is not settled urgently, consequences may be unpredictable – Armenia MOD
Armenia’s Acting Minister of Defense Vagharshak Harutyunyan held a phone conversation on Monday with CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas.
MOD press service reports that Harutyunyan briefed on the situation created on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, registering that despite the circumstance that according to the reached arrangement some groups of Azerbaijani armed forces left during the previous days and returned to their starting positions, yet part of them are still in the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
He stressed that in fact the situation created as a result of Azerbaijani provocation has not been resolved.
The acting minister of defense noted that taking into consideration the circumstance that the Azerbaijani servicemen are under full control of the Armenian [army] sub-divisions, as well as that in those border sectors big forces have been assembled from both sides, if the situation is not settled urgently the consequences may be unpredictable.
According to MOD’s report, Zas said that the CSTO closely follows the developments over the situation created on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and that it will be discussed in upcoming days at the session of the CSTO Council of Foreign Minister in Dushanbe.
