Armenian National Congress to participate in elections, Levon Ter-Petrosyan to head the list
Armenian National Congress will participate in the upcoming snap parliamentary elections in Armenia.
The decision was made today at the first session of the newly-elected administration of the ANC.
Armenia’s first president Levon Ter-Petrosyan will head the list. The electoral headquarters will be headed by ANC vice chairman Levon Zurabyan.
The Congress has also adopted a statement stressing the inability of the incumbent authorities to govern the state which as it said is in extremely bad situation.
“The Armenian statehood, the security of the citizens, the borders of the country and its territorial integrity, Artsakh’s existence are endangered,” the statement says, adding that the created governance crisis is complicated with the created domestic political crisis and tensed conflict.
“In such condition, being guided with the responsibility for the state and the fate of the people and yielding to impulses coming from different sectors of public, the ANC made a decision to participate in the snap parliamentary elections scheduled for June 20,” the statement runs.
