Demands of Azerbaijani side have no factual basis, Armenia demands immediate withdrawal of Azeri forces – Armenia’s SCS to Tajik counterpart
Armenia’s Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan held a phone conversation with his Tajik counterpart, president of the CSTO Security Councils Secretaries Nasrullo Makhmudzoda.
During the phone conversation Grigoryan briefed to Makhmudzoda the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border at this moment.
Tajik SCS emphasized the need of peaceful settlement of the issue and expressed readiness to assist in the operation of mechanisms envisaged in the sidelines of the CSTO.
Armen Grigoryan highlighted the session of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers to be held on May 19 as a favorable platform for the discussion of the issue.
During the conversation Armen Griogoryan stressed that the demands of the Azerbaijani side have no factual basis and emphasized the full and expedient withdrawal of the Azerbaijani armed forces from the territories.
In his part Nasrullo Makhmudzoda added that president of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon - currently the president of the CSTO Security Council - has already given relevant instructions for the comprehensive discussion of the issue in the sidelines of the session of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers.
