Armenia ex-minister released for 50 million AMD bail
Armenia’s ex-minister of transport and communication Gagik Beglaryan who has been arrested today was released after paying 50 million AMD bail.
Beglaryan arrived in Armenia Zvartnots airport today from Moscow and handed himself to law enforcement bodies. Besides, he has paid to deposit of Armenia’s Prosecutor’s Office the sum equivalent to the damage caused to the state as mentioned in the criminal case.
Taking into consideration the mentioned circumstances the supervising prosecutor made a decision to change Beglaryan’s pre-trial measure on release on 50 million AMD bail, Armenia’s Prosecutor General’s Office press service reports.
Search was declared for Beglaryan from March 23, 2020 after he was charged under Article 179 (embezzlement) and Article 308 (abuse of power) of Armenia’s Criminal Code.
