Situation on Armenian-Azerbaijani border comparatively calm – Armenia MOD
No changes have been recorded in the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border as of the morning of May 19 after provocation of the Azerbaijani armed forces on May 12-13.
The situation is comparatively calm, Armenian Armed Forces are preventing the attempts of the Azerbaijani servicemen in Armenian territory to ensure rear, Armenia’s Ministry of Defense reports.
“The situation across the whole frontiers of Armenia’s Syunik and Gegharkunik provinces is under control of the Armenian armed forces. The negotiations over full regulation of the created situation will continue tomorrow – May 19,” MOD said in the statement.
The Armenian Armed Forces emphasize the need of peaceful settlement of the conflict and at the same time are ready to any development of the events and stress that the encroachments on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia are absolutely unacceptable.
“Azerbaijani servicemen must leave the territory of the Republic of Armenia without any pre-conditions and hence refrain from such like provocations,” the MOD statement reads.
