Incursion of Azerbaijani armed forces into Armenian territory is a challenge to CSTO collective security system – Armenia’s acting FM

The incursion of the armed forces of Azerbaijan into sovereign territory of Armenia is a direct threat to the security, territorial integrity and sovereignty of CSTO member state which is a challenge to the collective security system of the organization, Armenia’s acting Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian stated at the session of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers in Dushanbe.

He noted that in the created conditions there is a need of CSTO framework for response in critical situations which will register the issues of formation of multisided mission for assessing the situation, working out further proposals.

Aivazian also stressed that the Karabakh conflict should be settled exclusively on political-diplomatic platform under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs and on the basis of united and comprehensive realization of principles worked out by the mediators.
