Russia ready to become mediator in discussion of demarcation issue between Armenia and Azerbaijan
Russia is ready to become a mediator in the discussion of the demarcation issues between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated at a joint news conference with his Tajik counterpart.
“We, in our turn, have informed our friends in detail about the efforts the Russian Federation is taking to settle the incident which arose as a result of absence of international legal registration of the state border,” Lavrov said.
“With the initial consent of the parties (Armenia and Azerbaijan) the Russian Federation offered to assist in the delimitation, demarcation coming forth with the initiative to set Armenian-Azerbaijani joint commission where Russia may participate as a consultant, mediator,” the Russian FM said.
