CSTO closely follows the developments in Armenia’s Syunik – Zas
The CSTO is closely following the developments in Armenia’s Syunik province, Secretary General of the organization Stanislav Zas stated after the session of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers in Dushanbe, TASS reports.
“The CSTO is concerned and closely follows the developments in the bordering regions of Armenia’s Syunik province,” he said.
“We record that there is no alternative to the implementation of November 10, 2020 trilateral arrangements,” Zas said, adding that the CSTO supports the negotiations between the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides with Russia’s mediation.
He stressed that the deployment of Russian peacekeeping contingent in the Karabakh conflict zone has promoted the improvement of the situation.
“We see the perspective of establishing lasting peace there. No shots are fired already. But the situation is yet tense,” Zas said.
