Armenia’s MOD reiterates readiness to settle existing situation by force in case of failure of peaceful settlement, warns civilians against visiting Syunik, Gegharkunik border sectors
Armenia’s Ministry of Defense has reported about cases when individuals, different officials and mass media representatives are trying to enter the border areas of Syunik and Gegharkunik where the Azerbaijani militaries carried out provocations.
“For security reasons, we convincingly urge to refrain from traveling to mentioned territories where the Armed Forces of Armenia are carrying out military service with 24-hour regime,” MOD statement runs.
It also stressed that in case of absence of peaceful resolution of the created situation the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia reserve the right to solve the issue in other way, including by force.
“In such case the presence of the civilians will only impede the complete fulfillment of tasks by Armenian sub-divisions,” the statement runs, adding that the police, military police forces are instructed not to allow civilians enter the mentioned territories.
