Armenian government has political will to settle Karabakh conflict – acting PM
One of the purposes of the Azerbaijani side is to provoke war, Armenia’s Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the cabinet sitting today.
He said the actions are taking place in the narrowest sector of Armenia’s territory and if the situation had gone out of control uncontrollable developments would have taken place there.
He said the solution of the issue by diplomatic pipes is right and justified, adding though that Armenia has not reached its goal yet.
“We cannot exclude that the purpose of this action is to influence Armenia’s domestic-political processes, election outcome, also, perhaps, providing political assistance to the propaganda network operating in Armenia. In general we think that we must act beyond all propagandas as this is an extremely responsible moment, and we record that for us the stability in the region is important,” Pashinyan said.
Referring to demarcation and delimitation of the borders, Pashinyan said it is necessary both to Armenia and Azerbaijan as it is an important security guarantee.
The acting PM repeated that no issue of corridor was, is and will be discussed.
Pashinyan also stressed that the claim that Karabakh conflict has been settled is not right with the international community recording that it needs to be regulated and that Armenian government has the will to do it as it needs to open era of peaceful development for the Armenian people with the exclusion of war.
The acting PM urged the people not to give in to the provocations of the Armenian network of the Azerbaijani propaganda.
“We are working consistently and will work to defend the interests of Artsakh, Armenia,” he added.
