Armenia's Acting FM emphasizes imperative of withdrawal of Azeri forces from Armenia's sovereign territory at the meeting with OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries' ambassadors
Armenia’s acting Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian received today ambassadors of OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries - Sergey Kopirkin (Russia), Jonathan Lacote (France) and Lynne Tracy (the USA).
MFA press service reports that during the meeting the interlocutors referred to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict in its wide context and issues on security and peace in the region.
The core of the discussion was the situation created in Armenia’s bordering provinces as a result of infiltration of the Azerbaijani armed forces Armenia’s sovereign territory.
Armenia’s acting FM briefed on the recent developments, reaffirming Armenia’s readiness to settle the issue in political and diplomatic way.
Aivazian considered inadmissible any encroachment on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia and emphasized the imperative of immediate withdrawal of the Azerbaijani armed forces from Armenia’s territory to avoid further escalation of the situation.
The participants of the meeting exchanged ideas on steps taken in the created situation.
