Armenia’s acting DM, commander of Russian peacekeeping troop in Artsakh discuss situation on Armenian-Azerbaijani border

Armenia’s acting minister of defense Vagharshak Harutyunyan received today commander of Russian peacekeeping mission, lieutenant-general Rustam Muradov.

Armenia’s MOD press service reports that during the meeting the interlocutors discussed the course of peacekeeping mission in Artsakh.

Rustam Muradov briefed on the activities carried out by Russian peacekeeping troop for observing the ceasefire.

The interlocutors discussed in detail the situation created on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border as a result of Azerbaijani provocation and the actions taken by the Armenian side.

Armenia’s acting minister stressed that any encroachment on the sovereign territory of Armenia is absolutely inadmissible and that the position of the Ministry of Defense is clear – the representatives of the Azerbaijani armed forces should return to their starting positions without pre-conditions.

Harutyunyan and Muradov also discussed possible ways of resolution of the situation.
