Armenia must show it will not yield to suchlike pressure – Armenia’s second president on situation on Armenian-Azerbaijani border

You should not leave impression that you can be treated like this, Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan who leads “Armenia” election bloc said at a news conference today referring to the situation created on the Armenian-Azerbaijani contact line and efficiency of negotiations.

“If with your steps, your policy, your statements you leave such impression, you will always have issues,” he stressed.

“As far as they [Azerbaijan] have expectations of additional concessions from Armenia, they will create such tension hearths to reach their goal by exerting additional pressure,” he said, adding that Armenia should show that it will not yield to suchlike pressures what currently is not being done at all.

He noted that first of all the issue should be settled through negotiations but with Russia’s mediation.

“If this issue is settled now, tomorrow they will create another suchlike problem in other border sector to solve their issue,” he said.
