Misinformation spread by Azerbaijan miserable attempt to cover its provocations and killing of Armenian serviceman – Armenia MOD

Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense issued a statement accusing the Armenian side of allegedly shelling its military positions from May 24-26.

“It is obvious that the statement is a regular, miserable attempt to cover the facts of recent provocations against sovereign territories of the Republic of Armenia and killing of Armenian contract serviceman, junior sergeant Gevorg Khurshudyan on May 25,” Armenia’s Ministry of Defense said in a statement issued today.

Armenia’s ministry says that according to the Azeri report the Armenian side is shelling Azeri positions for already three days while their ministry reports about it only today.

“The statement noted that the Azerbaijani positions were shelled in the direction of Artsakh, Shushi. The commandership of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Artsakh informed Armenia’s MOD that no shots were fired in that direction as well,” Armenia’s MOD’s statement runs, adding that the Armenian Armed Forces have not fired shots in the direction of Azerbaijan during the mentioned days.

“Armenia’s Ministry of Defense emphasizes again that Azerbaijan’s encroachments on the sovereign territories of the Republic of Armenia are absolutely impermissible and demands to immediately leave the RA territory, in the opposite case reserving it right to solve the issue in other way, including by force,” the statement of Armenia’s MOD said.
