My Step deputy does not exclude applying to UN Security Council or CSTO under other article of agreement
Armenia tries and will try to first of all settle the issue in political-diplomatic way, which does not mean that if it does not happen no military solutions will be given, My Step deputy Ruben Rubinyan told the reporters today referring to the situation created in Armenia.
Asked to comment on viewpoints – why should allies help if the Armenian side does not shoot – Rubinyan said the CSTO agreement does not envisage that shooting must necessarily be.
“Besides, it is our allies that urge not to escalate the situation and solve the issue in diplomatic and political ways. Besides, our allied formats have clear articles for clear cases. And it is not that we ask for help without doing anything but we have applied on the basis of clear documents under clear article,” he said, adding that taking into consideration the recent developments, they will reach to Article 4 of the CSTO agreement.
Rubinyan also noted that applying to UN is another possible step.
“I don’t exclude that the matter will reach it too. It depends on different circumstances,” Rubinyan said.
