Existence of Iran-Nakhichevan-Armenia railway may be very effective for the two countries - Iran's FM

Armenia has always been our good friend, Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif said at the meeting with Armenia’s Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

He noted that the cooperation sectors between Iran and Armenia are numerous and the successful visit of Iran’s Urban Development and Roads Minister to Armenia is a bright proof of it.

“I am hopeful that after the end of this pandemic we will manage to boost more the bilateral economic relations in the economic sector. Meghri’s free economic zone, as well as the existence of Iran-Nakhichevan-Armenia railway may be very effective for the two countries. A good arrangement has been reached. I hope that in near future we will manage to ensure active presence in Syunik province. This is the importance we give to our bilateral relations,” the Iranian top diplomat said.

Zarif also noted that there are very important issues both in bilateral and regional circles that need to be paid attention to.
