Armenia’s Acting PM expects public clarification from ex-acting FM on which decision or step contradicts Armenia’s state interests
Armenia’s acting PM Nikol Pashinyan’s spokesperson Mane Gevorgyan responded to the statement of the ex-acting foreign minister Ara Aivazian about reason of his resignation.
“We express gratitude to Mr Aivazian for the carried out work, nevertheless, we believe that our state and national interest obliges Mr Aivazian to publicly reveal who, when, where and how is going to take a step or make decision which contradicts our country’s state and national interest. We expect Mr Aivazian to publicly clarify it,” Gevorgyan told Armenpress, commenting on Aivazian’s statement.
Earlier today during the farewell meeting with MFA staff Aivazian said, “I have assumed this post with big difficulty but when I assumed it there was one criteria for me – this ministry must strictly observe our sovereignty, independence, our state and national interests. My decision to resign is agreed with this reason – for no one to ever doubt that this ministry may take a step or agree to ideas, initiatives which are against our statehood, our national and state interests.”
