They tried to spread revolution on judicial power – Kocharyan

The authorities tried to apply judge vetting toolkit having one goal to usurp the judicial power as well, Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan said.

“During this period the authorities tried to apply judge vetting toolkit. It has one goal – they came to power to usurp the executive power and they were to find toolkit to usurp the judicial power as well,” he said.

He said there is no other motivation here.

“Now how shall we discuss the vetting – vetting as a phenomenon in general, or vetting in the context of its application. It is necessary to make reforms, heal the system, find solutions to different issues. But vetting is another thing. They tried to spread the revolution on the judicial system too. They tried to spread, put under doubt everything, destroy and as a result today we got what we got,” Kocharyan said.
